Delphini were awarded the contract by Port of Tilbury London Ltd for the new walk ways on the Upper Lead in jetty. The clients brief was to design, fabricate and install new steel walk ways to replace the existing walkway at Tilbury docks in Essex.. This walk way provides an important link between the main lock entrance and the jetty and due to its location it was imperative that the new design gave the walkway a long lifespan.

Our engineers achieved this by designing the walkways using an 900mm diameter tube with high specification water resistant paint finish together with galvanised handrail and flooring, in total the walkways spanned 130 metres. Our team included 15 engineers and was completed in two months.

A project of this size provided us with a unique set of logistical challenges with workboat, tugs, cranes, electrical works all involved in the project, however with our management team the works were a complete success and were delivered to the client on time and budget.
